Two men are in serious but stable condition following a shooting inside a home Thursday night on Aurora’s East Side, according to the Aurora Police Department.
At around 10:18 p.m. Thursday, Aurora police officers responded to the 1900 block of Westridge Place for a report of a shooting involving two people inside a residence, a news release from the Aurora Police Department said.
Responding officers found two Aurora men, 53 and 19, with gunshot wounds, according to the police department. Both were taken by Aurora Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital, and the 19-year-old was later transferred to another hospital for additional treatment.
Both men were last reported in serious but stable condition, the police department said on Friday afternoon.
This is not the first shooting-related incident Aurora has seen this month.

A week later, a 19-year-old and a 20-year-old were injured in a separate shooting on the East Side, believed to have occurred when the two men were attending a gathering at a nearby home.As for the shooting on Thursday, detectives from the Aurora Police Department’s Investigations Bureau responded to the scene and hospital and are investigating the incident, the news release Friday from the police department said. Evidence technicians also processed the scene and recovered multiple shell casings and other evidence in the area, police said.
Preliminary information indicates that multiple rounds were fired at the home before those involved fled the area, the news release said. Investigators believe at this point that the incident stemmed from circumstances specific to those involved and that there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the community.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident as of Friday afternoon, per the police department. The investigation remains ongoing, the department said, with detectives continuing to review evidence and follow up on leads.
