Clint Jamison of Country Club Hills was ordered held in custody Saturday after being charged with murder in the death of his girlfriend, Candice Redman, 27, of Calumet City last week.
Cook County Judge James Costello noted Jamison allegedly “was undeterred by the presence of multiple other people home when he brutally killed (Redman)” and that electronic monitoring was “not designed to mitigate brazen daytime murders committed in the presence of witnesses.”
Prosecutors said Redman was killed at Jamison’s parents’ home on the 17700 block of Michael Avenue in Country Club Hills, where he lived with them, and that both parents were home at the time of the incident.
Jamison was captured on camera carrying Redman inside the home in a “romantic posture” at 3:25 p.m. June 17, prosecutors said, and the two went into Jamison’s bedroom.

Not long after, Jamison’s parents reported hearing a loud thump, as though someone had fallen, according to prosecutors. Both rushed to Jamison’s room, where they found Redman lying injured on the floor, prosecutors said.
Jamison left, making a comment that his mother took to mean Redman had betrayed or cheated on him somehow, prosecutors said. Neither of Jamison’s parents had heard any arguing or shouting before the attack, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said that Redman had 19 wounds, including cuts to her neck and arm, and that she was bleeding profusely and was unable to communicate. Redman was rushed to a hospital, but later died of her injuries, according to Country Club Hills police.
Jamison drove off from the scene, but was arrested by Illinois State Police in Chicago within an hour, police said. Prosecutors said a boxcutter stained with what appeared to be blood was found in the car, and there were also possible bloodstains found on the steering wheel and exterior door.
Prosecutors said Jamison had a history of battery, including one incident where he was sentenced to six months of court supervised probation, according to court records.
Candice Redman’s mother, Carol Redman, created a GoFundMe to pay for funeral and memorial expenses. In the description, she said her daughter was a beautiful, sweet and talented woman who had just finished medical assistant training and was about to start an externship.
“Candice was more than the circumstances surrounding her death,” Carol Redman wrote.
Jamison is scheduled to appear before Judge Luciano Panici on 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Markham courthouse.
