The victim of a fatal shooting in Lansing that prompted a two-hour shelter in place order from police was identified as Andrew Coleman, 48, of Highland, Indiana, by police documents.
The shooting took place early afternoon of June 4, on the 2700 block of 170th Street, where Nippon Paint Automotive Americas is located, according to the police report.
Coleman was operations manager at the paint plant, according to the police report and a LinkedIn page matching his name.
When officers arrived, responding to reports of a shooting, they spoke to employees leaving the building who told them the shooter was on the second floor, the police report states.

Police made their way through the building and eventually found Coleman dead in his office.
Following the shooting, police advised Lansing residents to shelter in place as a search for a suspect was underway. The advisory was lifted about two hours later.
The suspect was described as a male wearing a black do-rag, black hoodie and white surgical mask in a village news release.
The Lansing Police Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the case Thursday. Portions of the Freedom of Information Act response were withheld on the basis of an ongoing investigation.
