ELGIN LAUNCHES ONLINE CONSTRUCTION WORK HUB
Elgin has launched an online construction projects hub through which the public can obtain the latest information on city roadwork and infrastructure improvements and sign up to receive email updates on projects.
The hub features an interactive map of ongoing construction projects that allows visitors to click on links to specific project pages for detailed information about what is being done at specific locations, a news release said.
Emailed updates will include construction milestones, upcoming work, traffic impacts, detours, road access changes, schedule changes, photos and other information.
To sign up for updates and view the hub, go to engage.elginil.gov/construction.
CARPENTERSVILLE SEEKING FOX RIVER PARK NAMES
The village of Carpentersville is accepting name suggestions through Wednesday, June 10 for the new park it’s building on the east bank of the Fox River.
“Whether it reflects our community spirit, the beauty of the Fox River, local history, nature, adventure or togetherness, we’d love to hear your creativity,” according to the submission webpage, cville.org/…/Help-Name-Our-New-Riverfront-Park-113.
The $5 million park will have a canoe and kayak launch, stage, concessions, fire pits and other amenities. It’s being built on more than 5 acres of land off Washington Street and south of Main Street, where the M&M Patio Stone Co. was once located.
It should be ready for public use by late July or early August, Village Manager Brad Stewart said.
