Cops: Body found in garbage container in Austin

Chicago police were handling a death investigation Saturday after a man’s body was found inside a garbage container in an Austin alley.

Police discovered the unidentified male inside the container just after 1:30 p.m. in the 4700 block of West Arthington Street, police said, citing preliminary reports. The male was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy was scheduled for Sunday.

Police did not say what the condition of the body was, nor if it appeared to have suffered any trauma as Harrison Area detectives continued their investigation.
