A suspect was arrested Monday night after a fatal stabbing during an argument on the Northwest Side in the Norwood Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
About 11:15 p.m., officers responded to a call of person stabbed in the 6000 block of North Harlem Avenue. A 24-year-old man was involved in an argument that turned into a fight with a known suspect, police said. The person he was fighting with pulled out a knife and attacked him.
The man suffered puncture wounds to the face and was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where he was later pronounced dead. He was identified as Giovanni Martinez of 1000 block of North Avers Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The suspect was arrested at the scene where a knife was recovered.
Charges were pending as detectives continue to investigate.
