Latrell Williams, 30, of Alsip was shot and killed Saturday in a car while stopped at an Oak Forest intersection, the Oak Forest Police Department said.

Oak Forest police responded to a report of shots fired at 167th Street and Cicero Avenue shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday.

When they arrived, they found Latrell, who had been shot multiple times in the left side of his body and was receiving first aid from an off-duty medical professional, police said.

Williams was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, but later died of his injuries. His cause of death was listed as multiple gunshot wounds by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police said that preliminary investigation indicated Williams was stopped at the intersection when another car pulled up next to him in the left-turn lane, and multiple shots were fired into his car. The other car then fled eastbound on 167th Street toward Interstate 57, police said.

Oak Forest police said the shooting is being investigated as a homicide, and asked anyone with information to call 708-687-1376.
