A 16-year-old boy was among three people wounded Friday night when a gunman opened fire at a crowd standing outside in the West Englewood neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 6600 block of South Wolcott Avenue. Police said someone pulled out a gun and fired into a crowd, wounding three people.

A teenage boy suffered wounds to the neck and his side, and got himself to UChicago Medicine where he was listed in critical condition. A 28-year-old man was struck to the left arm and right foot, and was taken by paramedics to the same hospital in good condition. A 40-year-old man suffered a wound to the hip, and also got himself to the same hospital where he was listed in good condition, police said,

A firearm was recovered at the scene. Detectives are investigating.
