Five state champions highlight the first team, including three from reinvigorated powerhouse Providence.

First Team

Tommy Banas, Providence, junior, 138 pounds: Won his first state championship, beating Crystal Lake South’s Nathan Randle 7-4. Led Celtics to state runner-up team finish in Class 2A. Finished 47-7.

Jalen Byrd, Lincoln-Way Central, senior, 175: Earned his first state medal with fourth-place finish. Went 51-5.

Christian Corcoran, Providence, sophomore, 113: Went 36-12 and won his second state medal, finishing as runner-up in Class 2A.

Oliver Davis, Brother Rice, senior, 144: Won second state medal and his first in Class 3A, taking third place. Finished 38-8.

Luke Foster, Joliet Catholic, junior, 126: Missed last postseason with an injury. Returned to finish third this winter and help Hilltoppers reach dual team state. Ended up 43-7.

Jason Hampton, Joliet Catholic, senior, 132: Finished as state runner-up for the second time and won his fourth state medal. Went 43-5. Three-time all-area. Committed to SIU-Edwardsville.

Jasper Harper

, Providence, sophomore, 165: Went from fourth-place finish as freshman to state runner-up showing this season. Finished 37-12.

Judah Heeg, Lemont, senior, 190: After winning state title last season, finished fourth in Class 2A this winter with 40-3 record. Repeat all-area. Committed to Northern Illinois.

Justus Heeg, Providence, sophomore, 157: Became two-time state champion in Illinois and won his third high school title overall, including Minnesota championship he won as an eighth grader. Went 53-1. Repeat all-area.

Aiden Hennings, Lincoln-Way Central, senior, 285: Drake football recruit won his first state medal, placing third. Finished 49-6.

Jack Hogan, St. Rita, senior, 144: Finished third for the second time in Class 2A, after missing the podium last season. Went 39-5.

Liam Kelly, Mount Carmel, senior, 165: The 2025-26 Daily Southtown Boys Wrestler of the Year won his second straight state title and finished 34-2. Went unbeaten against in-state competition. Repeat all-area. Committed to Illinois.

Max Mandac, Providence, sophomore, 126: Went from an under-.500 record last season to a state champion in Class 2A, defeating IC Catholic’s Sammy Murante 8-3 in the finals. Ended up 41-14.

Austin Perez, Oak Forest, senior, 150: Finished third for the second straight season and helped the Bengals reach Class 2A dual team state. Went 34-4. Repeat all-area.

Chazz Robinson, Homewood-Flossmoor, junior, 126: Reached state podium for the second straight season, this time finishing fourth. Went 35-6. Repeat all-area.

Colton Schultz, Joliet Catholic, freshman, 113: Made a splash in his first high school season, placing fourth and finishing 35-12.

Ethan Sonne, Marist, junior, 157: Made his first state medal the best one, winning a 15-14 thriller over Lockport’s Justin Wardlow for state championship. Finished 38-3. Committed to Purdue.

Nolan Vogel, Joliet Catholic, senior, 157: Won his second state medal with fourth-place finish and 47-10 record. Committed to Elmhurst.

Justin Wardlow, Lockport, senior, 157: Finished as four-time state runner-up with over 160 career wins. Went 40-6 this season. Four-time all-area. Committed to Arizona State.

Adante Washington, Joliet Catholic, junior, 138: Won his first state medal with third-place finish. Went 46-5.
