Two Chicago men, Willie Glenn, 28, and Nikhi Calloway, 19, charged Friday with armed violence in connection with the Homer Glen home invasion Wednesday, were ordered held in jail pending trial in Will County.
A juvenile suspect was released to a parent and charges for him are pending at this time, the sheriff’s office said.
Glenn and Calloway are also charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding, aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle and other additional lesser charges. The Will County sheriff’s office, the state’s attorney’s office and other law enforcement partners are working to determine if any more charges will be filed, police said.
“When incidents like these occur in our communities, it reminds us to always remain vigilant and never let your guard down,” the Will County sheriff’s office said in a statement. “Please be cognizant of your surroundings and if something doesn’t seem right to you or you see something suspicious contact law enforcement right away.”
The three were taken into custody Thursday after an Wednesday’s home invasion in Homer Glen and a second armed home invasion Thursday afternoon in Lemont, according to the sheriff’s office and the Lemont police.
Charges are pending in Cook County for the robbery reported in Lemont, police said.
The Lemont robbery occurred about 3 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of Covington Drive, a news release from the Lemont Police Department said.
A 65-year-old woman was unloading boxes from her car in the driveway to her garage when a black Acura reported stolen from Chicago pulled in front of her house and parked, police said.
Two men who were wearing masks and armed with handguns entered the garage and forced the woman inside the home, police said. The woman was bound and her ATM card was taken, police said.
The men left in the Acura with a third man inside and withdrew cash at an area bank, police said.
The vehicle matched the description of the people and car used in a Homer Glen home invasion Wednesday, Lemont and sheriff’s police said.
Sheriff detectives and other law enforcement agencies began searching for the car and reviewing license plate reader camera data.
Joliet police officers found the car and attempted a traffic stop, police said. The men crashed the car and then attempted to run, police said.
Officers began searching the area, eventually taking the suspects into custody.
Police said the three have extensive criminal histories, including prior weapons-related offenses. One of the suspects was taken to a hospital for evaluation, police said.
Two firearms were recovered, police said.
The home invasion in Lemont was similar to the one that occurred the previous day in Homer Glen.
Shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday, a 73-year-old woman was returning home from grocery shopping and pulled her car into the garage in the 16800 block of South Deer Path, sheriff’s police said.
The woman was approached by a man wearing a black hoodie who was holding a gun, police said. A second man exited a dark-colored Acura reported stolen out of Chicago and was following her.

The men forced the woman inside her home, sat her in a chair and bound her wrists and ankles, police said. The men took a credit card from her purse, demanded a PIN number and withdrew $2,000 from the victim’s account at a bank in Orland Park, police said.
The woman was able to free herself about 20 minutes later and sought help, police said.
Investigators said the woman was targeted due to her age.
Homer Glen Mayor Christina Neitzke-Troike shared on social media that the woman was fine, rather shaken, but not injured. The woman said the intruders forced her into her home, tied her arms and legs with rope/telephone cords, rummaged through her home and threatened to take her life if she did not give the correct credit card PIN numbers, Neitzke-Troike said.
