NaperLights returns along Water Street

The Naperville Sunrise Rotary will present its annual NaperLights holiday display from Thanksgiving to New Years Day along Water Street and the south side of the Riverwalk in downtown Naperville.

Lights will be synced to music from 4 to 10 p.m. daily, and an enhanced sound system will project music across the DuPage River.

Visitors can access the light display from the Webster Street covered bridge, Main Street and Webster Street. Parking is available in the Water Street and Municipal Center parking decks.

The light display features more than 250,000 lights and lighted holiday figures from skating polar bears to penguins sliding on an igloo, the Rotary Club said.

New this year is a 16-foot tree with animated colored lights set in the center of Jaycees Park.

Holographic viewing glasses will be available on weekends while supplies last, the Rotary Club said.

Santa will appear from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 5 to 7, Dec. 12 to 14 and Dec. 19 to 21, weather permitting.

The Water Street Free Family Holiday Stroll will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7 and will feature Santa, his elf, a glitter tattoo artist, a strolling holiday trivia master, a balloon artist and free cookies and cocoa.

Free-will donations to support Naperville Sunrise Rotary’s local and international charitable projects are welcome, the organization said.
