An Evanston woman was killed Sunday night when an SUV struck her car on Grand Avenue in Gurnee in what appears to have been a weather-related crash, police said Monday.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Bria Allen, 29.
She was driving east on Grand Avenue around 8:54 p.m. in a Ford Focus when her car collided with a westbound SUV that had crossed the centerline and entered the eastbound lanes. The collision forced the Focus into a ditch, police said.

Police said the SUV, a Chevrolet Suburban, was headed west on Grand Avenue when the driver tried to change lanes and likely hit an icy patch. The driver was unable to control the vehicle before it went into the opposite lane, police said
The Suburban driver and their passenger were not injured. A third vehicle, an eastbound SUV, sustained a flat tire, but none of the occupants were injured, police said.
The accident remains under investigation, police said.
