Chicago police said a man was shot Friday evening in the heart of the city’s River North neighborhood, but was expected to recover.
The victim, 36, was quarreling with an unknown man on the street in the 400 block of North Wells Street just after 7 p.m. when the second man pulled out a firearm and shot the victim, striking him in the left arm, police said. No other injuries were reported.
The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said. The gunman fled the scene and was not in custody as Belmont Area detectives were starting their investigation.
Authorities did not say what the quarrel was over.
