View your sample ballot
Residents of suburban Cook County can check their voter registration status, view a sample ballot, find their home polling place, and more through cookcountyclerk.com/VoterInfo.
Registering to vote same-day, onsite
Residents who are not yet registered to vote may register in person at any Early Voting site. They must provide two forms of identification (one which shows the voter’s current address) and vote in person at the time they register. Eligible voters can register at any one of the Clerk’s Early Voting sites.
Mail ballots
Voters can apply for a mail ballot at cookcountyclerk.com/VoteByMail. The deadline to apply for a mail ballot is October 31.
What to bring
It is not required to bring a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, but the clerk’s office website says it can be helpful if there is a question about the voter’s registration, address or signature, and can also help speed up the process because the check-in stations have ID card readers.
