The Northbrook Park District is expanding its longstanding relationship with a member of the local business community. It is partnering with, The Landmark Inn Bar & Grille, to provide food and beverages for outdoor events this summer.
According to a news release, the restaurant is a favorite of Northbrook residents. It will be on-site with booths at upcoming Park District events such as the Cup-In-Hand Kickball Tournament on July 20 at Techny Prairie Park and Fields, Party on the Green on Aug. 17 at Village Green Park, and Northbrook Brewfest on Sept. 7 at Village Green Park.

The new, official partnership kicked off during the Grapes on the Green event held last month by the Park Ddistrict in conjunction with the Village of Northbrook, the release said.
The Landmark Inn, housed in Northbrook’s oldest commercial structure built in 1885 at 1352 Shermer Road, is co-owned and operated by siblings Helene Kapetaneas and Constantine Kyriazopoulos.
“The Northbrook Park District is thrilled that Landmark Inn is providing delicious food and beverages at our summer events,” Eileen Loftus, Northbrook Park District Director of Recreation, said in the release. “Helene and Constantine have been exceptional partners to the Northbrook Park District, consistently sharing their love for the community at our special events. Their commitment to Northbrook makes each event more memorable and enjoyable for all.”
The Landmark Inn is equally excited about the partnership, Kapetaneas said. “We love working with the park district and we love all the different types of events they have.”
The restaurant provides customized food based on the nature of the event, she said in the release.
For example, the menu at Grapes on the Green, a wine-focused event, included beef sliders with Boursin cheese and roasted portobello mushrooms, and mini veggie pitas with roasted vegetables, the release said.
For the past weekend’s Cup-In-Hand Kickball Tournament, the restaurant provided hamburgers and hot dogs, which go perfectly with beer to be served at the event, she said.
“We love that the Park District has events for different age groups. Cup-in-Hand is where the adults get to have fun like when we were kids. Grapes on the Green had an older crowd. Party on the Green is for the whole family and Brewfest is more for adults,” Kapetaneas said in the release. “We like working the events because we see some of our regular customers in a different setting, and we also get to chat up some new people in the process.”
