A CVS pharmacy in Lincolnwood has sold a winning Illinois Lottery scratch-off ticket worth $3.6 million, the lottery said Jan. 11.
The winning ticket, 20 Years of Cash, was purchased at a CVS pharmacy, located at 3950 W. Devon Ave. in Lincolnwood, about 10 miles north of downtown Chicago.
The 20 Years of Cash $10 scratch-off ticket allows players to win up to $25,000 per month for 20 years. However, this winner chose a one-time cash payment of $3.6 million, according to the Illinois Lottery.
The CVS store in Lincolnwood will receive a selling bonus of one percent of the prize amount, or $36,000.
Lottery officials say they encourage all winners to write their names on the back of their tickets and keep them in a safe place until they’re ready to claim their prize.
