For Glenview Chamber of Commerce executive director Meghan Kearney, the goal of Summer Fest has always been to bring local businesses together with the community.

Glenview Summer Fest, now in its 48th year, has grown to include over 100 vendors, booths, free games, health services, home enhancements, gift ideas, along with a whole range of food and beverage items — brought to life on two village blocks of Lehigh, from Glenview Road to Washington, for a family-friendly summer favorite, according to organizers.
“We have several interactive kid-friendly activities, the Glenview Fire department fire pole, carnival-style games, a bubble experience, balloon twisting, magic tricks and cool ice cream treats,” Kearney said.
Summer Fest also featured a range of vendors selling jewelry, candles, and hand-crafted items.
“During fest day, local businesses have an opportunity to sell merchandise, offer free games or health education, showcase new products or services, or celebrate their wonderful nonprofit services,” Kearney said.
Julie Lowis of Bags, Tags and Beyond, says she grew up in Glenview and attended Summer Fest as a kid.
“Coming back as a vendor this year is really rewarding for me, I am able to give back to the community that was so good to me,” Lowis said.
Kevin Bohn of Glenview attended with family.
“We were looking for a good time to have with our kids, and came to check out some of the local vendors,” Bohn said.
From 6 to 10 p.m., the street transformed into Summer Fest After Sunset. A music fest, free and open to the public, featuring favorite headliner, Panic at the Costco, and opening act, Jori Rose and the Thorns.
Kearney says, Summer Fest After Sunset had a host of delights including local food trucks serving beer and wine, all available for purchase during the outdoor show.
Summer Fest and Summer Fest After Sunset were made possible by support from Chamber sponsors, Coors Light, Busey Bank, Compass Realty, Glenview Bank and Trust and Lynch McPeek Wealth Management.
Glenview resident, Matt Belfanti attended Saturday with friends and family.
“It’s so nice to see small businesses in Glenview thrive, we love to come out for the fun, and to be a part of our community,” Belfanti said.
