Bans save lives: Can you remember when the child car seats became mandatory? Can you remember when the law banned the sale of assault weapons? Both saved a lot of lives. There’s growing evidence that at the very least bans on large-capacity magazines would reduce the number of those killed and injured in mass public shootings.

Eroding our freedoms: Who are these unelected lawmakers who want to tell Americans what cars we should drive, food we should eat, appliances we can cook on and yard tools we must buy in the future? We are slowly losing our freedoms! Our country was established by the people and for the people and we don’t have a monarchy and a king! We need to get a backbone, and soon!

Easily led astray? A vast majority of Americans support a woman’s right to have an abortion and for a permanent ban on assault weapons. So why are the people we voted into office ignoring the will of the people? Maybe it’s just too easy these days for our elected officials to be led astray by shrill voices and easy money.

Put an amount on that: While Dominion Voting Systems put a price tag on the damage done to its company by the Fox News Corp. ($787.5 million) what continues to go unresolved is the incalculable sum owed each and every citizen of this nation for the damage done to our faith in honest journalism.

Shoot to kill: I just saw the violence in Chicago on TV over the weekend. Maybe if someone would bring in sharpshooters and shoot to kill, this violence would end. It’s not only happening in Chicago, it’s all over the major cities. Something needs to be done.

Try working, not looting: Chicago’s new mayor, Brandon Johnson, is making excuses about the riots downtown and the unruly behavior of those people because of no opportunity. Here’s an opportunity for them: get a job like we did at 16 years old and make some money instead of breaking into stores and stealing from the owners. There’s signs all over the place hiring people in every store and fast food place.
