A 43-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after being found inside a Naperville house he was allegedly looting, authorities said.

Naperville police, responding to a call about a possible home break-in about 5:15 p.m. in the 1100 block of Shamrock Court, took Kurtis M. Clausen, of Carbondale, into custody on burglary charges, a news release said.

The house owners, who were not home at the time, called the police after being alerted by an activated alarm and seeing an unknown vehicle in their driveway, the release said.

Officers arrived to find a glass door at the rear of the residence shattered, prompting them to set up a perimeter around the house. When they announced they were going to come in to do a search, Clausen voluntarily came out, the release said.

In addition to being charged with residential burglary, Clausen also faces one count of criminal damage to property. Both are felony charges.
