Long time coming: Many years ago, there was rumor going around — about the time all the new housing on Route 20 heading west out of Elgin — that “they” were planning to make Route 20 four lanes all the way to the Plank Road/Coombs Road intersection. Wow! What a great idea! You have all this new housing coming in so it makes sense. But wait, as usual the state, the county and the city of Elgin never did it and now the traffic is backed up to God knows where, there are accidents and more housing is being built. Now “they” want to pay for a study as to what to be done. Really? It should have been done when Route 20 and McLean Boulevard were being rebuilt/reconfigured.
Bald-face liars: Night after night Fox News broadcasters have peered out from our viewing screens, looked us straight in the eye and told us big, bold lies. As long as the sponsors were kept satisfied and the viewers appeased, then the truth was considered collateral damage in the ratings war. It’s unlikely the word integrity appears anywhere in the corporate handbook. If so, its meaning was lost long ago on Rupert Murdoch and his team of all-star commentators.
Pandemic bomb: I have often heard the saying, “Are you better off now then you were before Biden?” I would ask the same type of question to those in a town after being hit by a tornado. Apparently the pandemic is being ignored while damage from a tornado is most obvious. Both conditions result in inflation, to a similar measure, as recovery cost can create a demand beyond available supply. High inflation can continue as often supplier’s greed does so. Biden inherited that economic bomb that the pandemic represents!
Putin’s damage: The people of Russia needn’t fear their country being destroyed by the West. Putin is doing an unimaginable job of that already.
Lying about DeSantis: People need to stop lying about Ron Desantis, governor of Florida. Nowhere is he banning the learning of slavery in his state and to blame him because he visited an all-white police force on his travels tells much more about the person complaining about it than about him! There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. You’re trying to paint him as a racist. This is the devil’s work … trying to divide people and bearing false witness.
Green Bay will survive: If Chicago can move on from both Mayor Lightfoot and Patrick Kane, then surely Green Bay, Wisconsin, can survive without Aaron Rodgers. I don’t need a timeout in total darkness to know that’s true!
Nothing but treason: Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States. She is advocating that red states withdraw from the United States and start their own government. So she is advocating civil war and she should be charged along with any other Republican representative or senator who advocate secession. Trump and Greene and other MAGA Republicans praise Putin, which could be and should be considered treason an act to overthrow the government.
