City holding public meeting on Lords Park pool future
The Elgin Parks and Recreation Department will be holding a special public meeting on potential plans for Lords Park Family Aquatic Center from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, at Lords Park Elementary School, 323 Waverly Drive.
Director of Parks and Recreation Maria Cumpata said the community is invited to offer input on aquatic amenities offered at the park. The aquatic center has been closed for three years by the pandemic and for financial reasons, and won’t open this year because of a lack of lifeguards.
One plan under consideration is to convert the center into a splash pad.
