Theft
Wilson Hernandez, of the 300 block of Washington Street, Elgin, was charged Jan. 19 with the theft of merchandise. The alleged theft occurred Jan. 17 in the 1500 block of East Deerfield Parkway and was reported Jan. 18. Hernandez was scheduled to appear in court Jan. 20 in Waukegan.

Moving violation
Nikko Ross, 25, of the 700 block of Barnaby Street, Wheeling, was charged Jan. 13 with improper traffic lane usage, and driving with a suspended driver’s license following an incident near the intersection of East Dundee and Elmhurst roads. Ross is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 10 in Mundelein.
Joshua Gaines, 32, of the 200 block of 9th Street, Wheeling, was charged Jan. 18 with driving on a suspended driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating motor vehicle when registration is suspended following an incident at 1400 East Lake Cook Road. Gaines is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 10 in Mundelein.
Battery
Jose Arteaga Jr., 48, of the 300 block of Plum Creek Drive, Wheeling, was charged Jan. 14 with battery following an incident at 1200 West Dundee Road.
There was a report of battery Jan. 22 near West Deerfield Parkway and Larraway Drive.
Burglary
There was a report of burglary to a motor vehicle Jan. 16 in the 1200 block of Green Knolls Drive.
There was a report of a burglary Jan. 21 in the first block of East Dundee Road.
There was a report of residential burglary Jan. 21 in the first block of Linden Avenue.
Criminal damage to property
There was a report of criminal damage to property in the 600 block of White Pine Road reported Jan. 22.
Outstanding warrant
Luis Ramirez, 22, of the first block of Oak Creek Drive, was arrested Jan. 16 on an outstanding Kane County warrant for a traffic offense following an incident near Dundee Road and Vernon Lane. Ramirez is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 6 in Kane County.
DUI
Christina Wechsler, 24, of the 1100 block of Johnson Drive, was charged Jan. 15 with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to remain at the scene of a vehicle damage accident. Wechsler is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 22 in Waukegan.
Otoniel Rocha, 51, of the 1600 block of Hulin Street, Rockford, was charged Jan. 18 with driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated DUI – violation for 3rd or subsequent time, driving with a BAC of .08 or more, aggravated DUI – during the period when driving privileges are revoked or suspended as a result of DUI/reckless homicide and aggravated DUI – driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, near the 200 block of West Robert Parker Coffin Road, Long Grove. Otoniel also had an outstanding warrant in McHenry County. Rocha was scheduled to appear in court Jan. 27 in Waukegan.
