Don’t blame guns: In 1791, Congress wrote Constitutional amendments “in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of (government) powers.” The 2nd Amendment reads, in part, “the rights of people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” Congress is now trying to do the very thing that the early Congress tried to prevent. I know people are getting killed with guns, but guns have been around for a long time. We need to find out why people are shooting people. Depression, hopelessness, frustration and lack of faith. Those are the real issues, but it’s easier to blame guns.

Rihanna disappoints: The halftime show by Rihanna was supposed to be entertaining. It wasn’t. That had to be the absolute worst halftime show in the history of all the Super Bowls you’ve ever watch. She couldn’t even lip sync. The singing was going on and she wasn’t moving her lips. I pray next year we get better entertainment. Let’s go back to rock ‘n’ roll.

Rodgers emerges: It’s been reported that when the Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers finally emerged from his self-isolation this week, he declared six more weeks of publicity.

Zero-sum game: Gov. Pritzker has proposed universal free preschool. This could end up as a zero-sum game since he wants Illinois to be the abortion capital of America. There won’t be any preschoolers to go to school because they won’t be born. No kids: no preschool. No preschool: no expenses. He could then claim he’s saved the state billions! What a hero!

Given a choice… I would rather see Kamala Harris smile and clap instead of watching that shell of a man, former Vice President Mike Pence, groveling and crawling on his knees toward Donald Trump.

What’s your priority: I can’t wait to hear from all of the people who wasted millions of dollars betting on the Super Bowl return to complaining about not being able to afford eggs or gasoline.

Start praying: We better hope and pray for the best, and for better in 2024, because if it continues to go as it is, we won’t have a civilized country to worry about. Families can’t afford to shop, people have to choose — is it food on the table or medication? All insurance costs are way out of hand and 401ks are depleting rapidly. It’ll be goodbye freedom and hello all government.
