Fraud

A Clarendon Hills resident at 11:11 a.m. Feb. 7 reported having sent $4,000 in gift cards to someone fraudulently claiming to work at Amazon, who said the cards were needed to fix the resident’s account. The resident downloaded an app that allowed the person access to their cellphone.

Traffic

Macario Lopez-Garcia, 22, of the 1000 block of Ferrari Drive, Bensenville, was charged with speeding, 26 to 34 miles per hour over the speed limit, at 4:24 a.m. Feb. 10 on southbound Route 83 near Harris Avenue.
