No one’s watching: With so many classified documents landing in the hands of government officials, you have to wonder if anyone is watching over our top secrets or if the White House security staff is as poorly vetted as Republican candidates for public office.
More IRS money a good move: The recent IRS funding will result in a more efficient service with up-to-date technology, improved agent availability, quicker processing of returns and reduction in tax fraud. The past IRS budget in 2021 was only 9% higher than that in 2011, a less than 1% yearly increase. Inflation and cost increases resulted in an IRS staff shrinkage and old technologies. For those getting audited, honest mistakes may happen on occasion, but those who act to deceive the tax laws needs to be stopped. An efficient IRS benefits American with both better service features and collected revenues.
More local comments, please: I noticed on Speak Out, most of the comments are on the president of the United States and Congress. Your readers and commentators here need to look and follow local communities as well.
Nice acting job: I would like to nominate Joe Biden’s press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, for an Academy Award. Her category would be best spin doctor/acting performance in a supporting role. She claims to be transparent while discussing former Vice President Biden’s nefarious and questionable handling of classified documents but all she does is tap dance around, duck, dodge and hide. Bravo.
Proud to be MAGA: I am proud to say I am a conservative United States veteran who is also a MAGA Republican. Sorry, President Biden, it means Make America Great Again. We love our country, faith, family, flag and law enforcement. We don’t carjack, loot, smash and rob, murder and assault people on the CTA tracks. And to you Ted Slowik, Jan. 6 was not an insurrection. No one there was charged with that.
They don’t get to choose: I thought that it is the duty of the county sheriffs to enforce the laws. Where does it give them the authority to interpret the Constitution in order to choose which laws to execute and which to ignore?
