An Elgin man has been arrested on charges he owned and reproduced child porn, officials said.
Steven J. Young, 64, of the first block of Aldine Street, faces 10 class X felony counts of reproducing child pornography depicting victims younger than 13 and 10 counts of class 2 felony possession of child pornography-moving depictions, a news release issued by Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser and Sheriff Ron Hain said.
The investigation was conducted jointly by Mosser’s and Hain’s offices, and allege “Young reproduced and possessed multiple videos and images of child pornography” prior to Jan. 17, the release said.
The Illinois Attorney General’s Office and the Internet Crimes Against Children’s Task Force also assisted in the case.
Young is being held in the Kane County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.

According to bond terms set by Kane County Judge Julia Yetter, he is prohibited from having unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 17 and from accessing file sharing websites, social media websites or websites characterized as pornographic.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 3.
