Voting against ‘children’: On Wednesday, Jan. 11, all but two House Democrats (one said “no” and another bravely said “present”) — 210 in all — voted against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which mandates that health care practitioners provide care for a fetus that survives an abortion or attempted abortion. Nancy Pelosi always said what they do is for “the children” yet they don’t actually want “the children” to exist. Democrats: the party of infanticide, both before and after birth.

Biden deserves Trump treatment: So now we find out the president has had classified documents on his own property for decades, ever since he was vice president. Republicans, get your popcorn and a comfy chair and watch the Dems squirm and offer hundreds of excuses as to why this is not as bad as Trump’s situation at Mar-a-Lago. The chickens are coming home to roost.

Easy immigrant solution: In his column, Carl Leubsdorf posed the question if there was a simple solution to the country’s migrant problem but offered no suggestions other than to encourage others to figure it out. I have a solution. Specifically, all applications for immigration and political asylum need to go through U.S. embassies and consulates. Period. No unauthorized entries will be tolerated. Those apprehended after illegally entering will be deported. Period. The “Dreamers” already have a pathway to citizenship. They just aren’t using it! Tough. Use it or be deported!

What we really need: The Republicans in the House seem determined to preoccupy their time with meaningless investigations. If they really want to justify their existence, they should start with the outrageous food prices we’re now being forced to pay. There’s no way a dozen eggs should cost over $7. So, what is anybody going to do about it?

Overwhelming scents: People always used to complain about women’s perfume and men’s cologne smelling strong. The scented laundry products can be just as overpowering. A couple weeks ago, I stood in line behind a woman and her clothes stunk so bad of Downy or Snuggle. It was horrible.

Littering hasn’t changed: Years ago an ad had a Native American with tears streaming down his face as he looked at what was once sacred land covered with litter. It is disheartening to see a massive amounts of litter discarded at stop signs, expressway ramps and along streets and highways. Maybe we need an 11th commandment: thou shall not litter.
