For the fifth holiday season, La Grange will hold a Small Business Saturday Flash Sale with the focus on Village retailers.

On Saturday, Nov. 26, 19 La Grange businesses will offer sales on selected merchandise from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., although some promised to extend their sale hours past 3 p.m.

“This is a very popular day as our business owners kick off the holiday shopping season by enticing customers with special discounts and promotions, both in-store and online,” Nancy Cummings, Executive Director of the La Grange Business Association, said. “It’s a really great way for residents to engage with their favorite small businesses, as well as explore a few undiscovered ones, too.”

The final list of participating retailers includes many previously participating shops, as well as several new to the Flash Sale.

Shoppers will able to enjoy special deals on clothes from women’s boutique JAYNE (20 W. Harris Ave.) or men’s clothing store, Jack’s West End (712 W. Burlington Ave.).

JAYNE offers in-store discounts and free Haute Shore Accessory when a shopper spends $25 dollars or more.

Jack’s West End offers 15 % off for purchases of $60 or more, 20 % off for $300 or more, and the first 25 customers get a Buttermilk Old Fashioned Mixer Single.

Horton’s Home Lighting, part of Horton’s Ace Hardware, 60 S. La Grange Road, offers a $25 bounce back coupon on purchases of $100 or more, with the coupon being valid from Nov. 28 through Dec. 24.

Shoppers can take advantage of deals on several Village restaurants.

Diners at GP Italiano, 1 S. La Grange Road, will receive a $40 bonus card with purchases of $100 in gift cards; those craving Mexican food can get a 20 % off coupon to be used on their next visit when purchasing $100 in gift cards or a $75 bottle of Patron Tequila Anejo.

Those preferring the comfort of home cooking can get a free 60 ml bottle of Balsamic Vinegar from artisan olive oil shop, Olivaceto, 7 S. La Grange Road, with a minimum purchase of $25. And they’ll get a free bag to take it home!

Shoppers can help work off any excess calories when they visit Peak Running, where they can get a $129 pair of Afterschockz Open Run headphones for $99. Or if it’s running shoes they need, the store is offering $140 Altra Torin run-in shoes for $99. (In stock only and while supplies last)

Small Business Saturday’s presenting sponsor this year is the women’s boutique, JAYNE.

“We are supporting all businesses in La Grange to make the downtown shopping district even more special than it already is,” Katie Cummings, manager of JAYNE, said. “We have always participated in Village events like the Sidewalk Sale this past summer. It was huge for us.”

Cummings noted that like most businesses across the country, the pandemic had taken a toll, but JAYNE has survived and thrived.

“We came back strong,” she said. “People were tired of shopping online and in big box stores and wanted the safety of shopping in small stores.”

For the third holiday season running, the LGBA also presents the Digital Holiday Wish Book.

Sponsored by Horton’s Home Lighting, the Wish Book kicked off Nov. 16 and will run through Jan. 1, 2023.

The interactive catalog features items from more than 30 participating retailers allowing holiday shoppers can browse through the Wish Book and take make purchases directly online.

Each of the merchants will showcase three to five items specially picked for the holiday season.

Sweet tooths can be satisfied by patronizing TATES Old Fashioned Ice Cream, Cold Stone Creamery, or Crumbl Cookies. Deals on clothes can be had at women’s boutique JAYNE, or Jack’s West End. Patrons of the arts can satisfy their inclinations by perusing the Digital Wish Books of Photo Depot, or the La Grange Art League.
