Very interesting photo on page 5 of Monday’s Southtown. It shows a Ukrainian man kissing the face of a soldier who has a U.S. flag on his vest. Perhaps that vest is a what they call a bulletproof vest. Interesting. But that could be our commitment to them. We provide them with those vests plus possibly the rest of his uniform. Way to go U.S. I agree with it.

I think it was a great idea that they put a cap on how much people can pay for insulin each month, no more than $35. What they also need to look at is inhalers, which are necessary for many of us. I have insurance, but still pay $150 per month, a lot for a senior citizen.

I was reading about people complaining about the price of turkeys this year and saying well, we aren’t going to be able to afford them. Why don’t you shop around? Over on Amazon Fresh, they had Butterball turkeys on sale for the last couple of weeks, 49 cents a pound. I have never seen them cheaper anywhere and even the regular stores like Jewel and all that have turkeys for 59 or 69 cents a pound. I don’t know where these people are getting that the prices are outrageous.

Isn’t it funny, two days after the election property tax bills are finally going out, just in time for the holidays. Nothing to be thankful for with all the increases in food, gas, health insurance premiums, medication and you can’t buy a new car for Christmas. There are none. So sad. But then again, it is Illinois, the crookedest state in the country. The big guy running it all has no clue what it is like to do without.

Joe Biden promised relief for college students who borrowed money for their education. Soon after the election, a judge ordered that promise unconstitutional. Will you who voted for Democrats based on that false promise remember that when you get the chance to vote again?
