Five Republican candidates appear to have been elected to the five seats on the Kendall County Board in District 1 in the Nov. 8 election.
The Kendall County Board consists of 10 members, with five elected from District 1 and five from District 2 on a partisan basis, with four-year, staggered terms. However, this year all seats were on the ballot, which is required every 10 years by Illinois statute.
Malanda Griffin of Yorkville was the only Democrat on the ballot in District 1 in the primary election. However, the Kendall County Democratic Party slated two candidates July 25 to appear on the ballot. They were former Kendall County Board member Audra Hendrix and Marta Keane.
Incumbent Amy Cesich decided not to run again in District 1 in the Democratic primary.
Judy Gilmour of Yorkville decided not to seek re-election for her seat in District 1 in the Republican primary as well.
Incumbent Republicans Brian DeBolt of Plano, Scott Gengler of Yorkville and Ruben Rodriguez of Yorkville were the top vote-getters in Tuesday’s election, according to unofficial final results. DeBolt received 14.47% of the vote, while Gengler got 13.62% and Rodriguez 12.82%.

The other GOP candidates who appear to have been elected in District 1 according to unofficial final votes are Yorkville Ald. Jason Peterson with 11.85% of the vote and Millbrook Trustee Seth Wormley with 11.40%.
For the Democrats, Griffin had 9.79% of the votes. Hendrix followed with 9.76% and Keane had 9.35% of the votes, according to the unofficial results.
Newly-established Kendall County political party candidate Todd Milliron had 6.93% of the vote, according to unofficial final results.
