Our beloved president is at it again. I was watching “Jay Leno’s Garage” and there was Biden with his oversized entourage pushing his electric car agenda and his war on oil and gas. Leno should be ashamed of being part of it as he has dozens of gasoline and diesel powered cars. Biden was actually driving a Ford pickup retrofitted with electric motors, scary, lucky they close off the roads to traffic. Shameful spending of probably hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars for travel for him and the entourage. As the world crumbles, he’s laughing with Leno!

Ted Slowik writes that people have anxiety about the upcoming midterms. I’m sure he’s worried about our democracy. Three times a week he brings up the Jan. 6 riot in his columns. He could be writing about a coffee maker and somehow he’d manage to make it about Jan. 6. On the contrary, I’m excited for the midterms. My area got redistricted. For the first time in my life, I will have some new people on my ballot, not Bobby Rush or Jesse Jackson’s offspring. Saying that Bobby Rush assumed office when I was in first grade and I’m now 35, it’s quite a change.

Darren Bailey is a millionaire, not a poor farmer from southern Illinois. He has employees, high tech equipment and applied for and received pandemic money all while complaining about closing down businesses and mask mandates. A million people died of COVID-19. He is part of the problem in Springfield, having voted against pandemic relief, against more police and against gun control. We are better off now than we were four years ago under Rauner. The PACs are lying about everything and even tearing this country apart.

Jay, you say close the border to stop a pandemic? President Donald Trump attempted to close the borders in February 2020, but it was too late, COVID-19 was already here, it came in from China on air travelers from Europe and on cruse ships. In this age of easy travel there is no way to prevent a disease from coming in via land borders.
