Well, after this extremely disappointing 81-81 White Sox baseball mediocre season record, I feel it is time for the chairman of the board and owner Jerry Reinsdorf to either pass the torch to his son or sell the team. Sure you can blame injuries, lack of chemistry, trades or whatever excuse you prefer, but these guys are underachievers and pretenders. Let’s begin with letting Kenny Williams find employment elsewhere and hiring a new manager and coaching staff to reboot these unmotivated millionaires masquerading as contenders.

What’s wrong with this picture? Got a billionaire governor who cheats on his taxes. Got a no-name farmer who people cringe when he speaks. Got an athlete in Georgia who according to his son could care less about his four kids. Lies about paying for an abortion but has no explanation on why he wrote a check to his girlfriend. Two years ago we had a choice of voting for two old geezers running for president who should have been in rocking chairs and not in the White House.

Born and raised in the Homewood 86 years ago. What I have just seen in the old downtown section brought a tear to my eyes. Flossmoor and other towns have building codes to keep their town looking the way it always was. The Homewood Board that OK’d this monstrosity of a building does not care about keeping the town old and quaint. Tear down a half block of building, build a four-story building that blocks the sun, 32 living units on three floors the first floor retail. Last one out of town shut off the lights.

I live on 77th and Central and I would like to know why I have to buy a village sticker every year when all my neighbors don’t have to buy one, especially on the south end of it toward 78th Street. And the Burbank police, you call them and they say there’s nothing we can do because the vehicles aren’t registered, but the vehicles are here every night for two years.
