There was an extended article in the Southtown about the looming SAFE-T Act. I can sum up the facts in two sentences. If someone is in jail, they can’t commit any more crimes. If they’re out of jail they can. I’ve summed up the whole article up in two sentences.

Ted Slowik mentions there are misrepresentations concerning this piece of legislation that was passed in the dead of night. Nothing good happens at 3 a.m. I wish he would list them. Of course, he would quote one of the two state’s attorneys that support it while ignoring the other 100 that think it is a bad piece of legislation. Judges, and even pastor Corey Brooks, believe this law will hurt the people it was supposedly designed to help.

Crime in the streets is completely out of control. City Hall, a guy raises your taxes, not to worry you can hire his law firm to contest those taxes all while his wife is an Illinois Supreme Court justice. Springfield, you have a guy shaking down major corporations while his daughter was the Illinois attorney general The latter two will probably die of old age before going on trial.

Jim, South Holland

I have a question for Gov. J.B. Priztker. Why is he putting these asylum-seekers in the south suburbs? Why isn’t he putting them up in his hotels? A better question, why isn’t he putting them in the north and northwest suburbs?

Shelly, Oak Lawn

The column about nothing making an aging baby boomer prouder than recounting their youth is truly the gospel according to Donna Vickroy. Thank you, Donna, for all the truths. My sisters and I will indeed wear our badges of honor.

Mary Anne, Bridgeview

I just read in the paper about Tyson Foods moving out of Illinois and taking their people with them. What is Pritzker thinking now? The man is lying about everything. He’s saying, oh it’s building up, I’m building up Illinois. Everybody is leaving. Send your newspaper to Gov. Pritzker and let him read about it so maybe people can turn around and see what a sheeple person he really is. How do you think he got to be a multibillionaire?
