A few points regarding the Jan. 6 committee. As an Illinoisan, I am proud of Adam Kinzinger and admire the courage of Liz Cheney, even though I strongly disagree with many pillars of Republican Party ideology. They’ll never get Donald Trump to testify. If the former fearless leader does show up, he will take the Fifth or use the platform to spin more lies. The pathological, destructive weasel is a national embarrassment. After watching the first impeachment hearings, it’s clear why Vladimir Putin is bombing Ukraine.

The Soviet Union had a media. It was controlled by the communist government. Our so-called mainstream media resembles closely that of the Soviet Union. We watched the propaganda they spouted and could not believe that anyone could believe it.

George from the South Side, I had to laugh when I read your Speak Out. Did Bailey question George W. Bush when he ran for president whilst still being governor of Texas? My question is, is it really relevant to question an event that happened over 20 years ago in another state? The focus of this election is, and should be, the governance of Illinois. Perhaps at the next debate, you’ll expect him to answer whether the Alamo was properly defended in 1836.
