I’m calling about the music instruments being taken away from the park in Orland Park. That’s terrible that the homeowner chose to play a vulgar hip-hop entertainment at loud volumes in retaliation. Who’s the child now?

Patrick, Orland Park

Being a loyal Speak Out reader, my mind is blown out of coverage of Trump and Biden. It’s the same rhetoric every day. Enough is enough.

Mr. G, Chicago

Jim from South Holland. You mentioned defunding the politicians. How about if we just limit how much corrupt money each one can get. Is it right for George Soros and Mark Zuckerberg to put in a half a billion dollars into the Democratic coffers. How about if we just limit these rich screwballs to like $100,000? That would be a start, for me.

Tom, Burbank

I challenge all citizens who intend to vote in the midterms to please watch the “U.S. and the Holocaust,” especially those Republicans who are possibly doubting which way to vote. This is an essential piece of our history and it is free on PBS to watch, done by Ken Burns. An excellent three-part series that will tell you what you need to know.

JK, Tinley Park

Geri from Chicago. You believe Bailey can’t govern without being biased. I believe you are 100% correct. In reality you could put many candidates names in that category. This is the result of too many overzealous, biased voters that are not interested in an opposing opinion. Combine that with the apathetic nonvoters. This is what we continue get. Will we ever wake up and try something different?

MJ, Worth

If Black lives matter, where is Black Lives Matter when our children are shot, killed and sexually assaulted. This is Black on Black. Please Chicago, vote to get rid of these that don’t care about us, Durbin, Pritzker, Lightfoot, Brown, Foxx. Please let’s give our children a chance at a good life or a life.

Amy, Chicago

Remember that old saying: Nero fiddled while Rome burned! Now we have Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot singing Karaoke while children in Chicago are shot on the streets.

M, Oak Forest

All the mayors in northern cities that are getting buses of migrants are complaining and criticizing Texas and Arizona governors for the busing and the cost. What the heck are these mayors thinking these two governors are going through with thousands every day?

Orange, Orland Hills

As almost all coaches tell their players, football is a 60 minute game. Yet local sports writers emphasize statistics that represent only a partial effort, such as the Bears defense being dominant in the second half of games. Also, reporters cherry pick the plays they write about, like Darnell Mooney’s once in a career leaping one-handed catch. The Bears will not be a successful winning team until they are able to dominate for an entire game, despite what we read.

Jack, Oak Forest

Love Donna Vickroy’s story about recounting our youth. I have so many of the same situations of my youth and family like hers. The four of us on the loose. Those were the days. What a blast we had. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Wanda, Oak Lawn

The old Republican conservative party was respectful of others and governed by their rules. This Republican party is like a gangster regime. They are angry and don’t care about anyone but themselves. They salute their leader, Donald Trump. Trump recently made a racist comment about Mitch McConnell’s wife, who is Chinese, and no one condemned them because they afraid he might turn on them. So the bottom line is to stay silent to keep their jobs while this loose cannon makes a fool out of them.

BJ, Hazel Crest

To Geri in Chicago: All people bring their biases with them wherever they go and in whatever they do. We have political parties so you can choose candidates that align with your ideas. Gov. Pritzker’s biases can be said to be a love for: abortion, legal marijuana, gambling expansion, and an affinity to ask the Federal government to bail Illinois out from under its overspending.

J.I. Oak Lawn

As a woman, I am encouraged to see two female candidates for the Illinois Supreme Court. In their multiple prime-time TV ads, voiceovers tell us that the women have the support of pro-abortion groups and are strong believers in abortion availability. I guess I’m naive, but I’ve always believed that the whole idea of a judge in a courtroom, at any level, is to render a decision on the merit of a case, not their own bias.

Christine, Evergreen Park

To Jerry from Chicago. I think you and I were watching different debates between Pritzker and Bailey. Pritzker interrupted as well, but he started right out of the gate was disinformation. Bailey was confident and knew exactly what he was talking about. He’s a business man and knows the reality of the struggles that we’re facing. That’s why people are leaving Illinois in droves in case you were not aware. Bailey made several great points on how to straighten out the state. Illinois is in free fall and we need help.

M, Orland Park

To Sally from Chicago. The narcissist pathological lying sore loser is creating this theatrical scene. Lock him up, like he talked about everyone else he doesn’t like. Donald, you were fired, deal with it. I never saw a politician cry like Trump has.

Bon, Mokena

Who says crime doesn’t pay? Certainly not Yesse Yehudah. He scammed the state out of $261,000. I didn’t know that Illinois had a surplus of funds that they could just hand out money like it was candy. The judge gave the probation rather than jail time. I just wonder if he stole another $5,000 or $10,000 what his sentence would have met been?

YCM, Orland Park

The campaign ads for Alexi Giannoulias state he will end corruption in the secretary of state’s office, so is he saying retiring Jesse White was corrupt?

Rus, Tinley Park
