Drivers should pay
As a Waukegan resident, I agree that we need to fight to save the historic wall on Sheridan Road. Obviously, people hit it most likely with their cars. Those people are the people and their insurance companies that should pay money to repair that wall. Isn’t that the reason for insurance?
Drop diesel prices
If gas prices are too high, I can adjust my driving. But one area that has not come down is diesel gas prices. Most of them are over $5 a gallon. Shipping costs are astronomical now, and that’s being passed on to us consumers in the cost of the products. The big deal is the diesel prices. That has to come down well under $4 a gallon for it to be effective.
Thank you
Thank you Charles Selle for your commentary about that propaganda paper that they stuck in our mailboxes, about their Republican right-wing propaganda they’ve been pushing in our county. I hope they stop that, and thank you for putting that in the forefront.
Toothless
Citizens. I see that closet wokester Charlie is condemning a so-called nefarious, right-wing Lake County Gazette showing up in our mailboxes. This week, it reviews a few of the new police rules coming under the so-called SAFE-T Act: No arrest for trespassing; offenders can flee; Taser precision required; state’s attorneys can fine a police officer for anything they deem violated a person’s rights; any person can lodge an anonymous complaint against an office, etc. Law enforcement will be toothless. Criminals will have a free hand against the law-abiding. If it were not for this little newspaper, I would have no idea what is coming.
Sign pollution
I’d like to thank code enforcement for picking up signs that we keep seeing on our poles and streetlights. I could just imagine what this city would look like if they weren’t getting picked up. It would look littered, just like the grounds are. Maybe we can put an ordinance in the about people littering the city streets and have the officers apply a ticket to it.
