In response to “Freedom of assembly”: Calling the Jan. 6 insurrection a “peaceful protest” is comical. It’s painfully obvious that you are unaware the Capitol grounds are restricted. What were all those fools protesting anyway? A free and fair election. Still no signs of tampering because there wasn’t any. Trump targets the weak and gullible, and that’s the gathering you had there that day. Facts still matter, and they will always matter. Jan 6 happened because of Trump. Do stupid things, follow a delusional megalomaniac and earn stupid prizes. Democrats are fascists? Thanks for a good laugh.
Money poorly spent
Warren school taxes passed on the last referendum. Now all real estate people get to pay more taxes. Also, some of the money will go for student parking fees. This money is not being spent for education. Also, money will be going for the teachers’ retirement pension. The teachers earn a wage and that is where their retirement money should come from, not my meager Social Security monthly check. I also don’t believe it is right to pay for student’s parking when I am paying taxes for bus service to and from school. Warren Township Board you are wrong on how you spend the taxpayer’s money.
Not a fantasy world
Pritzker’s SAFE-T Act is really scary. Democrats argue that under the act, judges can still detain individuals who have committed a serious or violent crime, or who pose a flight risk, or danger to other people. The key word here is that they “can.” The real question is, will they? We’ve seen how liberal judges here in Lake County tend to act in these cases, even without the misnamed SAFE-T Act. So, justices, if you read this, answer me this: If someone shoots up your neighborhood, destroys property and terrifies the residents, do you really think that person deserves to be released with no cash bail? Who in their right mind would finger that offender when they know it’s likely some liberal judge will turn that person loose to retaliate and possibly harm them. These Democrats and liberals govern as if we live in a fantasy world. We don’t.
Send them to Canada?
So now I see that Mayor Lightfoot is saying all the federal dollars sent to Texas for immigration should be sent to Chicago and other sanctuary cities and states. I also saw that there are Democrats talking about sending the migrants to Canada. Sounds like they want the money taken away from Texas and others so they don’t have the money to send them to the sanctuary cities and states. And, if they do, they want the money to send them to Canada. They freak out over a few busloads when Texas is getting millions. Sanctuary as long as they didn’t have to deal with it.
This city is a pizza place
Way back when Fox Lake was a drive-through on the way to Lake Geneva. Even Richmond offered more quaint shops, nice restaurants, and not even near a lake. Nothing much has changed to date. Fox Lake is just a collection of bars and drunk boaters, and most certainly disgusting swimming. To the businesses and restaurants, good luck. This city is a pizza place, nothing more.
Complete fraud
Pritzker’s campaign ads make me want to throw up. First, he tries to pass himself off as fiscally responsible when we all know that the only reason that Illinois is not completely bankrupt is because the feds gave the state a $14 billion bailout. Now he is trying to say that he is tough on crime when he signed the horrific SAFE-T Act which eliminates cash bail and lets felons out of prison. Please do not vote for this complete fraud in November.
Good riddance
All hours of the day and night, loud mufflers and modified exhaust systems roar through my neighborhood. How has this noise pollution become acceptable? Electric vehicles are the answer to this problem. Your days are numbered, inconsiderate owners of noisy vehicles. Good riddance.
Appalled he lied
First off, I am pro-life. Personally, I do not believe in abortion except in cases of: fetus will not be viable, mother’s life in danger or born with severe defects, rape or incest. I also believe no government should dictate a ban on this former right. This is an extremely personal, moral decision between a woman and her God. It is none of anyone else’s business what she does with her body, and certainly not the government at any level. I just watched an interview with Lindsay Graham and I’m appalled he lied to the American people on when fetuses feel pain. It is not 15 weeks. It is between 23-25 weeks of gestation, after synapses in the brain are forming. Every scientist, including our own government’s, have proven this. If you don’t want an abortion, don’t get one. It’s your choice. But until this society financially and educationally takes care of the poor children and their families, an abortion is more humane than to bring babies we can’t take care of into this horrible, violent, hateful divided country and world. What happened to our free will?
