Fed up

This is in regards to “Laws apply to everyone.” Yes, they sure do, but they just don’t seem to apply to the Clintons, the Obamas and the Bidens. Hillary Clinton, why didn’t they raid her house? Why didn’t they raid Obama’s house? And for God’s sake why hasn’t Joe Biden and his son Hunter? Their doors should be kicked in. That’s the most crooked, underhanded family that have ever surfaced in this country. And all you people can do is talk about Trump, Trump, Trump. They have all taken home boxes of information, or pictures, or letters from other prime ministers. They’ve all done it, but only Trump had to pay the price, huh? And he had no nuclear codes in the box. The nuclear codes are in his head. I can’t believe the idiotic stuff you print, and yet when I call with stuff that makes a lot of sense, you won’t let it see the light of day because it exposes you Democrats for what you are — a bunch of shady crooks that have destroyed this country in 18 months. I’m fed up with this.

People of Utah have spoken

In Thursday’s News-Sun and the parent company baiduhai, there was a political article announcing the defeat of Liz Cheney, the Republican House member from Utah. In the entire article, they never mentioned the name of the woman who defeated her in the primary. Her name is Harriet Hageman. Instead, it was more of a hit piece on President Trump. Say her name. Harriet Hageman. The people of Utah have spoken.

Everybody knew your name

Let’s put politics aside for a while and just take a walk or a trip down memory lane. Tenth Street, which divides Waukegan and North Chicago, is a vibrant retail center and 50 years or more ago, it was also a neighborhood. I’ve been told that the nuns who lived in the convent on 10th Street baked Christmas cookies and shared them with nearby merchants, including the Jewish guys who owned the hardware store. At the head of the street, you could go to church, go to school, dance at a dance hall, drink at a neighborhood bar and arrange a funeral — all within a half a block. You could do your banking, have a prescription filled and buy new shoes on 10th. There was a grocery store, a furniture store and a clothing store. You could fill your gas tank on your car and lift a glass or two at one of the taverns. It was a place where everybody knew your name.

Not her right

With all of this talk about just how noble Liz Cheney is — because she is making it her personal mission to ensure Trump never gets the opportunity to run for president — it should be pointed out that is not her right to do so. She is taking away a fundamental right of voters, being able to make a choice for themselves by narrowing down the playing field to choices lawmakers deem fit. That is not how it should work in America and every voter, regardless of party, should be upset about this, as it is censorship of American choice. They are fiddling with who we can choose from, and taking away our voice and our choice. Allow it now and it will continue to other things which may be near and dear to you and your family.
