Words matter
J.B. Pritzker and Sleepy Joe Biden have both tested positive for COVID-19. I wish them well. I find it odd, though. Both are vaccinated, twice and thrice boosted, but they still came down with COVID. Sleepy Joe has said in the past that vaccinated people are not getting the virus, and that COVID is a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Seems like the latest surge in COVID cases is of people that have been vaccinated. A pandemic of the vaccinated, if you will. So, can I ask why we call it a vaccine? People that got a polio vaccine didn’t seem to come down with polio. It pretty much eliminated it. So, I expect if we are calling it a COVID vaccine, we should expect COVID to be eliminated. I know it will help, and symptoms will not be as bad if you get vaccinated. But why call it a vaccine? Words matter.
Don’t outright believe everything
I wonder if Republicans were angry when Trump sold oil from our national reserves to China. In Trump’s first year as president, the Department of Energy sold 550,000 barrels from the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve to PetroChina, a state-owned energy giant and China’s largest oil producer. Also, did you know that our national oil reserves had more stored when Obama left office than when Trump left office? Please use your brain and research, don’t outright believe everything they tell you.
You are the problem
Those of you who continue to support that buffoon Trump are true sheeple. You are scary and sad. You are the problem with this country. Stop idolizing evil people like Trump.
Shame on us
The Park City woman who opted not to keep up to date on her child’s heart transplant meds just has to serve another 3 years and 9 months in prison? Shame on us. What is the world coming to?
Protect our democracy
Even though Trump is old news now, he still needs to be held accountable for criminally inciting the insurrection. Even worse, he tried to bring down our democracy by undermining our elections. When there is no peaceful transfer of power, there is no democracy. Protect our democracy and don’t vote for anyone that continues to support Trump.
Told people not to worry
More people died from COVID under Biden than during Trump’s time in office. True. But how many more would have been saved if Trump followed the advice of medical professionals and initiated responses to the virus months earlier than he did. In February 2020 Trump told Woodward, COVID is “deadly stuff.” He told the people not to worry about COVID, that it would go away when the weather changed. He encouraged people to take medicines which were unproven or improper. He displayed an ignorant knowledge of medical procedures and treatments. How many thousands would not have died if he had started vaccination development months sooner.
