Ted Slowik’s column highlights the dilemma for those of us who would normally vote Republican, but despise the idea of helping a Trumpist get elected. For governor and president, I’ve voted Republican the majority of elections, and would have one more time had John McCain chosen a qualified running mate. There is no rational alternative in the Illinois Democratic Party, especially in Cook County. Preckwinkle’s refusal to answer legitimate questions speaks volumes.

Baffled how people can still support Trump after watching taped comments from his own supporters. He is a con man simply taking your money. Republican Party may be worse, wanting to ban books, ban abortion resulting in more unwanted children to support, limit women’s health care, oppose controls on sale of AR-15s, which if you need to hunt is ridiculous, limit voting rights. Not one Republican candidate has offered any specific ideas.

Shelly, Oak Lawn it is obvious you have a dislike for Black Lives Matter and most sane people would oppose Antifa, but they did not start a coup to overthrow the government and destroy the Capitol as Trump did. Also, if you don’t believe the credible witnesses from loser Trump’s family and inner circle who testified, and those that are yet to, about chronic liar and treasonous Trump trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power, you have been drinking too much Trump Kool-Aid.

Hi, I would like to say stop the bad excuses Democratic Party. With the high prices of gas and food, this is not the country I grew up in. Who are you working for? People coming over the border? And why did you close the pipeline?

MLB stands for Major League Baseball, played by major league players and managed by major league managers. However, when it pertains to Chicago White Sox and their manager, one Tony La Russa, it’s minor league all the way. To say the least, the game has passed him by. Final straw, I hope, was walking a hitter with two strikes only to have the next hitter pound and opposite three-run homer. It’s time for La Russa to say goodbye to the White Sox and hello to the next happy hour.
