All the stars are aligned for Republicans to win big in the midterms this year, but just give a Republican a microphone and he’ll bury himself in his entire party. All the polls show American voters are heavily on the side of getting rid of assault rifles. Not Republicans. Every single survey shows that Americans are completely on the side of a woman’s right to choose what to do with their own body. Not Republicans. We are going to maybe pull off one of the biggest upsets this fall that we’ve ever seen for the Democrats.

Anyone would vote for Lori Lightfoot for another term of office of mayor should have their head examined. More crime, poor selection of police and fire commissioners. She would probably charge taxes to a blind man selling pencils on the street corner. Wake up, Chicago, we’re drowning in quicksand.

I did not vote for Donald Trump and personally hope he does not run for political office again. The stunning amount of vitriol directed at him, though, seems misguided. During his term, I bought gas for $2.19 a gallon and my neighbors never worried about a baby formula shortage. My primary reason, though, for not directing hate speech at Trump’s administration is that our family never once felt that, bit by bit, our basic rights were being threatened.
