Open the door to attacks

This is in response to why we have to listen to all this abortion conversation? Let me be clear, I would never have an abortion, but I did once consider it. It was a hard choice, but my choice to have the baby and luckily it turned out OK due to a financially supportive father. That’s something most women in this position don’t have. My beautiful child is a transgender adult who I love, affirm and accept with all my heart. But if we don’t keep talking about the abortion right being stripped away, it will open the door to attacks on other women’s and LGBTQ rights. Why are we letting these nosy, hateful, puritanical, self-righteous, religious crazies run our country and divide us?

Flee the wrath

Illinois and its leaders gleefully brag about promoting the proliferation of behaviors formerly known as vices like gambling, recreational drug usage, assault and murder, including abortion. You can also receive drugs through the mail to do the dirty deed from the comfort of your own home. Even if Gov. Pritzker approves of these things, there’s a higher power that abhors these behaviors. You would do well to refuse these behaviors, too. Flee the wrath that is to come.

Totally effective solution

To the male whose submitted the entry “Why all the fuss?” regarding the abortion debate. You’ve managed to mention all forms of contraception except the only reliable and 100% effective one — a vasectomy. Why wasn’t that mentioned, sir? If more men got vasectomies, there would be far fewer pregnancies and abortions.

Vote Republican

I moved here from Cook County in 1988 to get away from the corruption and liberal politics. Lake County had been developed by persons who believed in lower taxes and conservative values. I was not alone, but others who moved here brought their liberal thinking and politics, and now occupy almost all the elected positions. That’s why county, fuel, real estate and local sales taxes have risen. Every elected position is important, even at the school boards and library. If you want lower taxes, vote Republican on June 28. Just look at your county tax bill. The party of spend then tax needs to be voted out.
