Tawdry state

Charles’ Selle’s recent front-page article, “Casino dealt good hand,” did an excellent job of illustrating just how tawdry our fine state of Illinois has become. First, we spend our way into financial ruin, then we turn to abortion, casinos and legalized marijuana to try to right the ship. Heck, why not legalize prostitution as well while we’re at it? So, we’ve now become a mecca for women who want to end the lives of their unborn children, for potheads and for people who want to throw away their money and possibly ruin their families’ lives by gambling. I grew up being proud of my state, but I can’t say that I am not anymore. We are truly a prime example of a civilization in decline.

Midwest version of California

I see these commercials for Illinois. Middle of everything, all in Illinois. Jane Lynch should tout high taxes and fees. Drive-thru abortions. Come here and buy illegal drugs, home of sanctuary cities. Carjack citizens and commit a gun crime, you will be back on the streets in two hours with no bail. Take credit. Don’t understand why lefty liberals hide behind their policies and will not tout how wonderful their policies are. Middle of everything is right. Midwest version of California.

Altar of Lucifer

It has become more and more obvious to me that many Democrats have bent the knee at the altar of Lucifer. They, also, utilize the Alinsky model of personal destruction for those who disagree with them.

Strong prediction

Many years ago, at least 30, there was an article published in the paper about our city, where the reporter called Waukegan the “Nitty Gritty No Frills City On The Lake.” Turns out this reporter evidently was able to accurately predict the future.
