Once-in-a-career opportunity

Ann Taylor and her acolytes on the City Council need to understand that to attract an experienced, professional city administrator to Waukegan, Taylor will actually need to grant the administrator the authority to bring in their own senior management team. That would include their own deputy city administrator, who is their right hand. No professional worth their salt, that possesses the experience needed to be effective for Waukegan in this role, would accept the powerlessness of the position as defined in the ordinance. Surrounded and hemmed in by the current lack of professionalism is not the recipe for success. Failure to think this through and act accordingly will lead to further mediocrity instead of the professionalism sought. Don’t blow this once-in-a-career opportunity.

We must challenge this

If you care about your children and the educators in our districts, you should be questioning District 60 and the bonuses handed out. The board approved them. That’s the first problem. If we don’t challenge them, it will not change. McCall grade school received the Blue Ribbon award and absolutely should be rewarded, but only the principal got $15,000? What did the teachers get, nothing? The superintendent got $20,000? Really, on top of a salary over a quarter of a million dollars, with the board — especially Ewing — supporting it? Our taxes are the main source of income for schools, so why do we support what is going on?

Vote them out

Overturning Roe v. Wade is an assault on women everywhere. I would never have an abortion, but no one has the right to monitor or tell me what to do with my body. It’s funny they never talk about the legal responsibility of the men who impregnated these women. Or, what social services and financial help the states will give these women and the unwanted children. If this goes through, then the Supreme Court must also make it law that states provide financial, legal support and free contraceptives for all women. They must make it law that men who coerce women into sex be thrown in jail. If the Supreme Court is going to go this far removing women’s liberties, then be ready America, they will not stop there. Women will become second-class citizens, and it will become lawful for men to oppress and force women to be submissive to them. This is the Republicans’ agenda. Vote them out.

My family is so beautiful

If abortions were legal back in 1940, maybe I would not be here today. And then I would not have a family and grandchildren. So, therefore the one abortion murder would have stopped at least 20 people in my family. Isn’t that terrible, since my family is so beautiful.

What’s wrong with this government?

What I’d like to know is what is Nancy Pelosi doing over in Ukraine? We’ll be in a war with them if she opens her big mouth. She should never leave this country. That’s a joke. What’s wrong with this government?

Use your reasoning skills

This is in response to “Pack of Losers” in Talk of the County, not wanting the Heritage Foundation articles in the News-Sun. You are a Trump-deranged snowflake who needs a safe space. Newsflash: This is called a newspaper. The Lake County News-Sun is a mostly left-leaning paper if you haven’t noticed. The Heritage Foundation pieces are found in the opinion section. Your brain is malfunctioning because you are an emotional wreck. You need to use your reasoning skills if you have any left. I’m a conservative, and the Heritage Foundation articles are just about the only ones I agree with in the opinion section. There’s about one conservative entry out of every six in the opinion pieces. The other five are leftist-leaning. But that’s not enough for you. You’re part of the Orwell disinformation governance board morons. You only want what you think to be aired. You don’t want to hear the other side because you need to put little plugs in your ears, and scream, and gnash your teeth, and chew the wood at the bottom of the doors to try to get in and stop other people from having an opinion.

Based on their qualifications

In Talk of the County, there was an entry about appointing the proper, qualified candidate. I agree with that wholeheartedly. It shouldn’t be based on race, gender or anything else. It should be based on their qualifications.
