As Park Ridge businesses poured wine and handed out glasses Sunday afternoon during the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce’s Wine Walk, the rain held off, allow attendees to walk between business locations in Uptown.

Jacke Mathews, the chamber’s executive director, said more than 250 people arrived to enjoy Wine Walk, which was twice the number of last fall’s event, which had been scaled back due to COVID-19 concerns.

“We are back,” Mathews exclaimed, characterizing Sunday’s event as a huge success.

The event allowed attendees to visit 21 pouring station locations hosted by retail shops, businesses and restaurants. Each one provided a taste of wine and small samplings of food to participants.

While the sites were clustered in Uptown, merchants from Park Ridge’s South Park area offered fare at a ‘pop up’ location in Sweet & Tart’s party room, Mathews indicated. Each attendee was entered into a raffle, with $25 gift cards from each pouring location as prizes.

“The pouring location hosts have all had extremely positive feedback, with many of them already asking to secure their spot for the Fall 2022 Park Ridge Wine Walk, which is scheduled for Sunday, September 25,” Mathews said.
