Not his fault
OK, call it a crisis, but this is not limited to the USA. The whole world is experiencing higher energy costs, higher food costs, increased housing costs, etc. Please know that our president does not control the inflation that is occurring across the globe. Like it or not, COVID is still active. In fact, China had shut down major industrial areas for several weeks, which can impact the entire supply chain. This can drive up prices and cause product shortages.
Really free?
Is this gas giveaway really free, especially at election time? If it is truly free, with no strings attached, then there is no need to know who is giving it away or not ever running for any office.
Compromised
You are 100% right-on about the FBI, and basically all of the three letter agencies. They are compromised to either some degree, or even to a great degree. And so, just by the way is the mainstream media. If people actually think that the media is telling you the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, well I’ve got a nice piece of property in Florida I’d like to sell you.
Check their references
A new director for the Waukegan library will be great news. Hopefully, this time the library board will do its due diligence and actually check with the former employers of the candidates. And I mean actually talk to their employers. Sure they’ll all have good references, that’s how you get rid of people. Remember the last director had great references, and look how that turned out.
Get to work
I see that one of the Talk of the County contributors is crediting Ann Taylor for the repaving of Grand Avenue. Grand Avenue is Illinois State Highway 132. The city and Taylor have nothing to do with the funding of this project. The same contributor also credits Taylor for the repaving of Green Bay Road, another Illinois state-maintained highway, 131. Taylor can actually earn some infrastructure cred if and when she finally addresses the wretched condition of vital, city-maintained streets — McAree, Keller, Lewis, North, Western, Jackson, Genesee, Brookside, Ridgeland, Glen Flora, Greenwood, to list only a few of the very worst. There is a ton of federal infrastructure funding available, and a lot of Waukegan streets in need of attention. Taylor needs to get after it to get Waukegan’s fair share, and get to work.
Check with other states

Kudos to Lake County Board President Hart and any other municipality that protests the merger of the Canadian Pacific and Kansas City railroads. Has Ms. Hart checked with nearby states on their experience with these railroads? My relatives in Stevens Point, Wisconsin — which is a freight train hub with a large train yard — report that Canadian Pacific says one thing and then does the opposite. Perhaps truth is not a railroad value.
Class is in session
Attention, basic geography class is starting, again. The Starbucks, with wording on the outer wall that honors those who serve our nation, is not a remodeled Starbucks and is not in Waukegan. It is the new Starbucks located on Green Bay Road in North Chicago. Remember this, because there may be a geography test in your future.
