It’s amazing that so many folks, even on this forum, do not believe we are in a crisis. There is no doubt we are paying more for food, gas, taxes, homes, etc. Have you been to the border? I have, and worked there. Have you? Have you seen the cost of homes? What is common to all of this are politics and this president.
A pretty lucky group
Rather than arguing about who’s to blame for higher gas prices, let’s look instead at the glass as half-full. First, Metra ridership is way up. Good for Metra. It’s been a tough couple of years for them. Second, when we can, many of us are now walking instead of driving. Good for us, and our heart health. Third, sources of renewable energy are receiving increased attention. Good for the environment. All it takes is a slight adjustment in perspective to see that the blame game is not productive, and that we’re actually a pretty lucky group of people who are doing OK.

When is a forest preserve not a forest preserve? When it is owned by the Lake County Forest Preserves.
Fomenting an insurrection
Once again, we have a Fox News toady regurgitating the biased half-truths presented by Murdoch’s minions. The CNN report on the missing phone logs stated that a gap did and does exist. This is because Trump avoided using the White House switchboard while communicating with close to a dozen parties. So there is no official record of those calls, and thus a gap in the records. Why wouldn’t Trump want a record of his calls while “tourists” were attempting to dismantle the government? Possibly because he was fomenting an insurrection.

In response to “Everything’s backward”: I agree with you, Will Smith had every right to confront Chris Rock. It is not right that a comedian can make fun of a person with a medical condition. If Chris Rock did not know of the medical condition, too bad. It is not right to make fun of anyone’s appearance, even if it is not a medical condition.
Willing to run
The city of North Chicago had nothing to do with the devastation you see on the west side of Green Bay Road. This disgusting harvesting of trees was orchestrated by the Lake County Forest Preserves. It took a giant logging truck at least two trips to remove their handiwork. I would like to know if the forest preserves board is elected. If so, I’d be more than happy to run for a seat and try to put a stop to these overzealous lumberjacks chopping down these trees in our preserves. Did you notice I said ours? The Lake County taxpayers.
