West Aurora School District 129 will add two new administrators to the roster for the 2022-23 school year, one of whom is a graduate of West Aurora High School.
The West Aurora School Board recently approved the appointment of Margarita Vazquez as director of English Learners and Brian Wiesbrook as fourth-grade curriculum coordinator.
Vazquez is coming from West Chicago Elementary School District 33 where she is presently coordinator for Second Language Learners. She has served in West Chicago District 33 for 22 years, officials said.
Vazquez, an alum of West Aurora High School, previously served in the classroom as a lead literacy teacher, special education teacher, English as a second language teacher and instructional coach.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in reading and literacy from Benedictine University. She earned her master’s degree in educational leadership at Aurora University.
Wiesbrook has spent eight years at Indian Prairie School District 204. He is presently a fourth-grade teacher in the district. He previously was a first-grade math interventionist. In addition, he has experience as a team leader for curriculum development and instructional technology, according to officials.
Wiesbrook holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from North Central College and a master’s degree in educational technology as well as a master’s degree in educational leadership from Aurora University.
