Look on the bright side: We may be going into a recession, the cost of everything may be going up, gas may be $5 soon, we’re becoming a disrespected, laughingstock worldwide, the vice president may still be embarrassing herself and America, the president may be considered a weak, puppet leader, we may have gone from energy independent to begging our enemies for resources, we may be on the brink of WWIII, but, hey, since Biden and the Democrats took control, at least we don’t have to suffer through any more mean presidential tweets from the mean old orange man!
Breaks for seniors: To the caller wanting our state to offer discounts for seniors, Illinois does offer $24 license stickers for people 65 and over with less than a $33,562 income for singles, or in a household of two less than $44,533. I hope this helps!
Investigations have benefits: All elected public officials are aware they can be opened to the scrutiny of being investigated. They most often will declare an investigation as politically motivated. Regardless of that opinion, the fact is investigations help to assure confidence in our elected officials. Illinois has a checkered past of political corruption in both parties making us a prime target.
That didn’t take long: The last known football to be thrown by Tom Brady in a NFL game recently sold at auction for $518,628, but that’s only half of the story. Only hours later the future Hall of Famer announced he was returning to play yet another season thus devaluing the bidder’s prized collectible. Ironically, that’s not the first time Mr. Brady was ever accused of deflating a football!

Fact-checkers needed: I’m wondering if the same people who believe Biden when he says it’s Putin’s fault we have high gas prices are the same people who believe Jesse Smollett’s tale that he was attacked in Chicago by white men with MAGA hats? And where are our presidential fact-checkers that have somehow vanished off the face of the earth since Biden took office?
Here’s a thought: Regarding our position of buying Russian oil. Since we need oil, I don’t know why President Biden wouldn’t allow more oil leases to be given out temporarily until the United States shows it’s not using that much oil and decrease these leases as we start using less oil. But let’s produce the oil here and it’s much cleaner and easier to refine than the oil we get from fracking in Alaska and wherever we get fracking oil. Use some of our good U.S. oil from Texas and other states, maybe in the Gulf even.
