Thanks for nothing

For those who elected someone who’s now viewed by other world leaders as weak, who cut off our ability to be oil independent from day 1 and, instead of empowering our country, he’s having to reach out to those who hate us and beg for oil, I say thanks for nothing. When he says Americans are OK with paying more for gas and it’s patriotic, I’m not sure who he’s talking to but he didn’t ask my family who’s had to decide to heat or eat this winter. And pay attention that they’re pushing for very expensive electric cars as our only choice. I’m not sure about others, but our family won’t even be able to afford one. Regardless, China still controls manufacturing of chips needed in fossil-fueled vehicles, as well as electric vehicles. We really need to bring those jobs to this country. His administration has taken our country to scorched earth, and those in key positions are clueless. They are doing more for other countries than helping those here who they should be working for. If you still think this is a good thing, seek medical help.

An oil-driven country

Thanks Democrats. Take a bow and be proud of your policies. The price of gas is skyrocketing, along with inflation. Tell us how great it is to be green. I know for a fact your average far left-wing loon does not give a rip about the price of gas, or how it affects the middle class they claim to fight for. In their mind, higher prices mean people driving less. Bernie Sanders and AOC are just thrilled by the high cost of gas, I can assure you. Well America is still an oil-driven country, along with most of the First World. Why America is not the biggest producer of oil in the world is just beyond me. America is swimming in oil. But let’s depend on Russia, or Iran, or Venezuela for our oil needs while they follow the strictest environmental laws. Yeah right. I have news for you: Our military bombers, fighter aircraft, ships, tanks and support vehicles still run on oil. We don’t have solar-powered tanks or battery-powered aircraft. It is a matter of national security for us and our allies to be oil-independent from nations that do not share our interests or values.

Parking problems

When are the schools and school board going to address the illegal parking and parent behaviors at the schools? Greenwood parents park on the side of the street that has a no-parking sign right in front of where they park. Of course, then there is the parking in, and in front of our driveways. They also park halfway in the street, so other cars or buses can’t turn down the street. My favorite is when they park in the middle of the street, leave their cars running with another child in the car while they run into the building. I have contacted the principal and school board several times. Nothing gets done. Is it going to take a child to get hit before something is done? Someone at each of the schools needs to be assigned to walk the area and correct these issues before it’s too late.

Do your research

As a frequent contributor, I had posted a comment about donating, specifically to the Red Cross. Do your research with these organizations. Towers To Tunnels is an excellent way to make a contribution for a lot of causes, especially for Ukraine. The other organizations may have good intentions, but their overhead is just disappointing. Do your research.

How about freezing greed?

Wages rise only to be spent on rising prices. Those who pay the wages are not affected. Rolls-Royce had an almost 50% increase in sales. U.S. billionaires’ wealth increased by 62%. Elon Musk’s wealth increased $150 billion. Walmart, Amazon and other big box stores’ profits soared, while smaller businesses folded during the pandemic. The rich get richer. We should freeze the gas tax hike? How about freezing greed? The working class pays more in taxes in proportion to rich. Who is really freezing?

Special police group needed

Waukegan has an ordinance that a car license is required for vehicles registered in the city. But it is only enforced during certain hours of the night. So the people keep their cars off the street on these known hours. Then they park their cars on the street all day long. If the car is registered in the city, it should be required to have a license during the day as well. People also park on the concrete driveway approach and not the street to avoid a license. A special police group should be assigned for license enforcement and ticket the violators. It could be money to fix the street pothole problem.
